Calcasieu SO Issues Flood Plans
With Toledo Bend effectively doubling the runoff today from the reservoir and threatening to flood in the Sabine River Valley, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriffs Office has taken the initiative to consider and issue a Flood Plan for area residents should high water become a real problem in the next couple of days.
According to Sheriff Tony Mancuso, the department will stage high water vehicles and boats on both sides of the river in different areas of the parish. The department will continuously monitor the flooding situation and if necessary man-up even more to meet any rescue or other flooding demands.
If you find yourself trapped, or in trouble needing or wanting evacuation due to the flooding call the Calcasieu Parish Sheriffs Office (CPSO) 337-491-3700. If you feel your life or others lives are in immediate emergency danger, call 911.
