Carly Rae Jepsen Joins Jimmy Fallon and The Roots to Jam “Call Me Maybe” With Toy Instruments — And It Rocks
“If you haven’t yet succumbed to the summer-jam joy of Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe”—seriously, who are you, and who hurt you so?” Those are the words of The AV Club’s Genevieve Koski, and I can’t top them. It’s true — the song is infectious, but not in that have-to-put-some-cream-on-it kind of way. And now, Jimmy Fallon and The Roots have re-imagined the song in the way that only band nerds could — with toy instruments. And you know what? It’s still catchy as hell.
The late night team got together with Carly Rae Jepsen backstage to record their little ditty. Even with kazoos, ukeleles, and a toy xylophone, The Roots are still better than your band, bub.
