LHSAA Men's Basketball Playoffs

The Washington Marion Charging Indians claimed the class 4A state championship on Saturday afternoon after defeating AJ Ellender 65-58. It is the first state championship for Washington-Marion since 1987.

College Baseball

The McNeese Cowboys continues their hot streak as they sweep their Southland Conference opening series with Central Arkansas. The Cowboys got the opening win on Friday night in extra innings 6-3. McNeese then came back with a pair of 5-3 victories on Saturday and Sunday. McNeese improves to 12-4 on the season and 3-0 in conference play. The Cowboys will hit the road tomorrow night with a game against the University of Houston.

College Softball

The McNeese Softball team continued their winning ways as well by getting their own sweep of Central Arkansas this weekend in Lake Charles. The Cowgirls dominated on Friday night with an 8-0 victory and then came back to sweep a double header on Saturday by scores of 6-2 and 7-3. The Cowgirls improve to 16-10 overall on the season and 3-0 in conference play. The Cowgirls won't return to action until Friday night when they start a three game series with Sam Houston State here in Lake Charles.
