College Baseball

After a 13-0 defeat of Louisiana College on Tuesday, LSU baseball returned to action against New Orleans on Wednesday night. LSU was looking to avenge a loss to the Privateers back on February 21st. The Privateers would defeat LSU for the second time this season after scoring three runs in the top of the 15th inning to break a 4-4 tie and give the Privateers the 7-4 win. LSU will fall to 13-5 on the season. Three of the five losses have been to Southland Conference teams. LSU will now get ready for their SEC opening series this weekend with Georgia in Baton Rouge.

NBA Basketball

The New Orleans Pelicans fell to the Miami Heat last night 120-109. The Pelicans fall to 27-41 on the season and currently sit in 12th place in the Western Conference standings. The Pelicans are currently five and a half games out of 8th place in the Western Conference and the final playoff spot. The Pelicans will return to action when they host the Houston Rockets Friday night at the Smoothie King Center.

The Houston Rockets got a win over the Lakers last night 139-100. The Rockets improve to 47-21 on the season and currently sit in 3rd place in the Western Conference standings. The Rockets are five and a half games behind the Spurs for second place and six and a half games behind the Warriors for first place in the Western Conference.
