LHSAA Girls Basketball Playoffs

In the class 2A semi-finals yesterday, the Lake Arthur Lady Tiger's season came to an end when they fell to Madison Prep 61-34. Madison Prep will advance to take on Rayville the 2A state championship game.

In the class 3A semi-finals, the top seeded Lady Knights of South Beauragard advanced to the state championship game after a 60-56 win over Ville Platte. On the other side of the 2A bracket, Albany gets by the Iota Lady Bulldogs 52-50 and will now face South Beauregard in the 2A state championship game.

The DeRidder Lady Dragons will be in action today in the 4A semi-finals when they take on AJ Ellender. Tip-off for that game will be at 1:15. In the 5A bracket, the top seeded Lady Bucs of Barbe will be taking on East St. John. Trip-off for that game will be at 6:15.

College Baseball

The McNeese baseball team returned to its winning ways last night after defeating UL Monroe 14-5. The Cowboys are now 5-4 on the season and will be back in action in Lake Charles this weekend when they host Prairie View A&M in a three game series at Joe Miller Ballpark beginning tomorrow night.

College Basketball

Both the McNeese men's and women's basketball teams will be in action tonight when they travel to Huntsville, Texas for a Southland Conference doubleheader with Sam Houston State. The women will start it off with tip-off at 5:15. The men will follow the women with tip-off for their game scheduled for 7:15.

College Softball

The McNeese Cowgirls will be in action twice today as they're competing in the San Diego Classic with back to back games. The first game of their doubleheader will be against BYU. First pitch is scheduled for 11:00AM. The second game of their double header will be against San Diego State. First pitch for that game is scheduled for 1:30PM.
