This is the Cowgirl Soccer team that sent the University of Arkansas packing out of Lake Charles on an upset and somber bus ride. The Cowgirls are perfect on their home pitch in 2018 standing undefeated as this is written.

The Cowgirls are braced to defend their turf Friday at 7 pm when (6-3,0-1) Northwestern State rolls down Common street. It'd be great to have a good hometown turnout as the Lady Demons (wasn't that also the name of a movie with Cher and Bette Midler?) come into town winning 5 out of their last 6 games and fresh off a 5-0 blowout of LSU-Alex their last time out.

While solid at home in 2018 the Cowgirls are nursing their bruises from a 1-4 road trip that ended on a positive note shutting out Jackson State 5-0.

The game will be McNeese's Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer game and the Cowgirls will accept donations for the Go4theGoal fundraising efforts. If you notice their gold shoelaces, those are also in commemoration of the event.

Cowgirls head coach Drew Fitzgerald said: This Friday we are taking on Northwestern State soccer on the field but we are partnering off the field to raise money to help those facing pediatric cancer. Please consider donating to the cause and come see us compete on Friday at 7 p.m. at Cowgirl Field.
