After struggling through a two-game losing streak the McNeese State Cowgirls Soccer squad opens Southland Conference play Friday at Southeastern Louisiana, the match begins at 7 pm.

Head coach Drew Fitzgerald said The start of conference play is always exciting, It's fun to open up against an in-state opponent. Southeastern is well organized and has had some good results in non-conference play.

The Cowgirls were picked to come in no better than 5th in the coaches and sports information directors pre-season poll, but the scrappy Cowgirls would like to catch up some in the series Southeastern Louisiana currently leads 20-8-5, including wins in the past 7-5 matches.
