CPSO Warning: Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over
Before reading this, note the time. Because within 50 minutes from now someone will be killed in an alcohol-related driving fatality.
Do the math yourself, in 2016 10,497 people were killed in drinking and driving related crashes, accounting for 28% of all motor vehicle fatalities in the US.
And so the Calcasieu Parish Sheriffs Office is participating with the help of a grant, in the national crackdown on drunk driving. The campaign started on the 17th and ends Labor Day Weekend September 3rd.
The Calcasieu Sheriffs will have more checkpoints and officers on the road. Note there will be a zero-tolerance toward impaired driving, no excuses. No, I work for so and so, or but my daddy is such and who! no nothing! They'll lock you up good and tight for the night.
And we've discussed the drunk jail before haven't we?
Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over is a nationwide crackdown on drunk driving in partnership with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. (NHTSA)
