Fugitive Bank Robbery Suspect Collared in Lake Charles
In a news release a few minutes ago Trooper Derek Senegal, Public Affairs Troop D in Lake Charles informed the public that 44-year-old suspect James Spikes has been captured in Lake Charles for an Orange, Texas bank robbery.
Using information from the Orange PD, troopers determined that Spikes, a Lake Charles resident, matched the description of the suspect in the bank robbery.
Friday (25 January) investigators from LSP and the Orange Police Department found Spikes at his South Lake Charles residence. During questioning, Spikes admitted the robbery, turned over evidence of the crime including the mask he wore during the act.
Spikes has been booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and is currently awaiting extradition back to Orange, Texas where formal charges are expected to be filed.
