Atmospheric conditions have manifested which will 'block' Hurricane Harvey from the normal storm progression of crossing a coastline and beginning a northeastward drift.  As of 5 PM Hurricane Harvey is expected to cross the coastline in Texas somewhere a little north of Corpus Christie Friday evening, night or early Saturday morning then make a U-Turn re-entering the Gulf of Mexico, perhaps gaining some strength and re-crossing the coastline in the vicinity of Galveston, Texas.

As of 4 PM the Hurricane Warning has been extended northeast of Matagorda to Sargent, Texas, all other Watches and Warnings remain in place including Storm Surge as far northeast as High Island, Texas (near Crystal Beach)

Current maximum sustained winds are near 85 MPH rain projections for our area are for some 6-12"  and sandbag locations are largely open in SW Louisiana and Orange County, Texas

Texas Governor Gregg Abbott has already declared 30 counties as disaster areas, the mayor of Corpus Christie this afternoon is 'strongly' encouraging evacuations and expect to order mandatory evacs at almost any minute.... developing...
