Lake Charles Lands Olympic Sized Punch; Wins Boxing Trials
Everything starts with a Visit. Last year Eric Zartler the sales director at the Lake Charles/Southwest Louisiana Convention & Visitors Bureau visited Salt Lake City and made a presentation to the USA Boxing Board of Directors.
He wasn't alone as of course cities from all over the United States wanted to host the Olympic Boxing Trials for 2020 also.
Lake Charles WON!
The event is the largest-ever sports group to visit Lake Charles and the Lake Charles CVB is to be commended for presenting Lake Charles benefits, now that will bring some 800 boxers to town in December with a local economic impact of some $2 million dollars in hotel stays, restaurants, and other revenues
Location and Early Schedule of Events
As all boxing tournaments, this one begins with weigh-ins and technical meetings with boxing matches to be held from December 10-15. Many events will be inside the Sudduth Coliseum and the Olympic Trial championship matches will be held at the Rosa Hart Theatre to determine which boxers will represent the USA in the 2020 Games in Tokyo.
Everything starts with a visit, we're proud of and delighted Eric Zartler and the CVB decided to visit Salt Lake City.
Congratulations to our Lake Charles CVB hometown team for winning this massive event for Lake Charles. For more information click here.
