Megadeth to Reissue ‘Killing Is My Business,’ Plus News on A Perfect Circle, Rocktopia + More

– While chatting with fans on Twitter, Megadeth‘s Dave Mustaine revealed that the band’s Killing Is My Business disc will be re-released in the next few months with a new mix and artwork. Stay tuned for official details.

– In a new tweet, Maynard James Keenan reveals that he’s starting rehearsals for an A Perfect Circle tour. He also gave the tweet a #apc2018 hashtag.

The Sword have started recording for their next studio album, which carries the title Used Future. The band revealed in an update that Tucker Martine is producing the effort at Flora Recording and Playback in Portland, Ore., and that they expect to finish sessions by early November with an early 2018 release projected. Stay tuned for details on the album release and their world tour.

– Dig the Collective Soul song “Shine” that started it all for the band? The group has just released the audio of their performance of “Shine” (complete with a piano open) that’s featured on their upcoming concert disc, Live, which is due Dec. 8. – The Transplants will release a mostly covers EP, aptly titled Take Cover, this Friday (Oct. 13). The seven-song set finds the band taking on cuts from Beastie Boys, Minor Threat, Madness, The Violators and more. You can pre-order the set and get more details here.

The MelvinsDale Crover cranks up some heavy bass while delivering a dark new video for the song “Big Uns.” The clip can be seen here and if you like what you hear, the song is featured on Crover’s solo set, The Fickle Finger of Fate, which is available here.

– Lynch Mob‘s Jimmy DeAnda revealed that in addition to live dates supporting the band’s The Brotherhood album, he’s also been working with some of his former Bullet Boys bandmates in a new band called Lies, Deceit & Treachery. The group released the song “Devil” back in September, with vocalist Shane Tassert joining himself, Mick Sweda and Lonnie Vencent.

– The international music sensation Rocktopia is heading to Broadway for six weeks — March 20-April 29 — at the Broadway Theatre. The show fuses some of the top rock songs of the past century with some of the greatest classical music ever written, with tracks from Queen, Journey, Foreigner, U2 and The Who standing alongside Mozart, Handel, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven and Rachmaninoff. The show features a five-piece rock band, a choir of 40 and an orchestra of 20. Tickets go on sale Nov. 13 at, while pre-sales for American Express card members and Audience Rewards members will take place on Oct. 30 and Nov. 6 respectively.
