The Christmas Holiday is almost here and the folks at Samaritan's Purse are working overtime, collecting "Shoebox Gifts," for poor children around the world. The National Collection Week is Nov.13- 20, 2017. Parents and Grandparents this is the perfect opportunity to show your children the importance of helping others. Doing a "Shoebox Gift" as a family is a wonderful way to teach that lesson to your children. If you or your organization are looking for a community service project worth while, this is it.

You can use any shoebox, cardboard or plastic. Operation Christmas Child also has red-and-green boxes that are also available to order now for a suggested donation.

Unlike the video, you don't have to wrap the box and lid.  In fact, you can use any shoebox in your closet, or pick one up a shoebox/boxes at any local Operation Christmas Child  drop-off site.  To find one in your area, click here.  Below are drop-off locations and hours of operation in the Greater Lake Charles area:

Operation Christmas Child is an annual charitable event sponsored by Samaritan's Purse, a Christian organization that provides spiritual and physical aid to the poor around the world. Promoting the gospel of Jesus Christ, they deliver shoe boxes filled with presents to poor children, who otherwise wouldn't get anything for Christmas. Each shoebox has a bible, in the native language or it's origin, placed inside to teach children about who Jesus Christ is and what Christmas is all about. National collection week is going on now.

You still have time to put on together!  You can also build a "Shoebox Gift" online! For more details on how to pack your box, click here.  Let's spread the joy of Christmas, and the word of Jesus Christ around the world together!

Merry Christmas, for The People's Station 107 Jamz!
