Even the simplest internet search will show you over 300 baseballers born in Louisiana have made it all the way to the major leagues. True enough a former Baltimore pitcher lived across the street from me in Moss Bluff, and our little league from the years of about '99-'03 produced at least one kid who is on a big league roster right now.

The point is, right now there may be some youngsters you've seen swilling a post game snow cone with red juice dripping down the front of their uniform that might one day score the winning run in the bottom of the 9th in a World Series. It could happen.

Of course, all that takes raw talent that must be honed through practice and proper instruction. McNeese Cowboys are holding summer baseball camps next week (June 10th) for three levels of players.

Youth All Skills Monday-Thursday June 10-13, Youth All-Star Select Camp Monday-Wednesday June 17-19 and the Pro-Style Showcase Camp Wednesday June 19 from 2-5 pm. All camps are at the Joe Miller Ballpark.
