Garbage, Trash, & Recycling Collection for MLK Holiday, Monday, Jan. 21
In observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Monday, January 21, 2019, not only will City Hall be closed, but there will also be no trash or garbage picked up in Lake Charles, said a City of Lake Charles media release.
Trash scheduled for pickup on Monday will be rescheduled for Tuesday, January 22. Trash normally scheduled for pickup for Tuesday will be picked up on Wednesday, January 23. Routes for Thursday and Friday will remain as regularly scheduled.
In addition to the closure of City Hall, all Department of Public Works services, and recycling operations at Nelson Ball Field/Alma Ln, Wood Waste Facility, and the Roving Green Truck will be closed on Monday, January 21. Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, January 22.
An additional reminder from the City of Lake Charles:
"Containers and other items for removal shall be placed before the hour of 7 a.m. on collection day or on the evening proceeding collection day. Containers shall be removed no later than 7 pm on the day of collection."
"The owner, occupant, tenant, etc., is responsible for collecting any spillage from the container."
