Hello Tropical Storm Imelda
The low just offshore Texas we've been watching a couple of days turned into a small tropical storm earlier and has made landfall near Freeport, Texas. The National Weather Service advises that heavy rainfall and the threat of flash flooding will spread inland this afternoon and into Wednesday.
NOAA Doppler Radar place Imelda's landfall near Freeport at 1 pm local time with winds of forty miles per hour, maximum sustained.
For Southwest Louisiana and Southeast Texas it all means we'll be seeing periodic tropical rainstorms throughout this afternoon and tomorrow with little to no notice of extra wind. Watch for street flooding and low lying areas that are prone to storm water accumulation.
