Lake Charles Police Need Help Locating 3 Suspects Involved with the Shooting of An Elderly Man on Guy Street
UPDATE: On Friday, June 15, 2018, at approximately 12 p.m., Mildred Rashelle Goodly, turned herself into the Lake Charles Police Department without incident. Sidney Charles Bland is still at large. The investigation continues.
Thursday, June 14, 2018: Detectives with the Lake Charles Police Department need assistance with the whereabouts of 3 suspects involved with the shooting of an elderly man on Guy Street last week. Two of the suspects have been identified, but a third person is reportedly still at large.
According to a media release, officers responded to a residence in the 2700 block of Guy Street on Friday, June 8, 2018, at approximately 8:25 p.m., where they found a 73-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds. The 3 alleged suspects entered the man's home, shot him, and took an undisclosed amount of cash, then fled the scene.
Detectives learned Mildred Goodly and Sidney Bland were 2 of the persons responsible for shooting the elderly man, who is now recovering at a local hospital. Police are still trying to identify the third person involved.
Goodly and Bland are considered armed and dangerous, and warrants have been issued by a judge for their arrest. "Any person(s) caught harboring or assisting with these subject evading law enforcement could be arrested and charged", said the media release.
Mildred Rashelle Goodly, 25, of Lake Charles, La., is charged with attempted 1st-degree murder, armed robbery, and armed robbery with a firearm. Her bond is set at $850,000.
Sidney Charles Bland, 32, of Iowa, La., is charged with attempted 1st-degree murder, armed robbery, and armed robbery with a firearm. His bond is set at $1,400,000.
