The eaters have spoken, after swallowing of course and the Luna Bar & Grill has come out on top in the Lake Charles/SWLA Convention and Visitors Bureaus seventh annual Local Favorites Restaurant Competition.

Overall some 250 restaurants were nominated with nearly 8,500 votes cast, this years contest received the highest number of votes cast ever. The CVB conducts the contest online so that out-o-town visitors can see where we locals like to eat. It's a modern form of looking for diners the truckers are parked at on the old two-lane highways.

Steamboat Bills and Pat's of Henderson came in second and third respectively, rounding out the top twenty were, 121 Artisan Bistro, Brown Bag Café, Buffi’s Peaux Boys, Casa Mañana, Darrell’s, Harlequin Steaks & Seafood, Mazen’s Mediterranean Foods, Nina P’s, Restaurant Calla, Saltgrass Steakhouse at Golden Nugget, Seafood Palace, Southern Spice Restaurant & Grill, Texas Roadhouse, The Villa, Toga Grill, Tony’s Pizza and Walk-On’s.

People travelling to Louisiana expect good food that's sometimes been described as legendary, the state enjoys a worldwide reputation for good eatin'. Travelers want to eat like a local does.
