McNeese fell into an early hole and outhit the Lions to rally back from 3-0, but an unfortunate unearned run in the 8th spoiled the Cowboy comeback story. Final SLC 4-3 over McNeese.

Zach Rider lasted an inning for McNeese so it was a bullpen night and they put on a good show. The Cowboy pen only gave up the one unearned run on a costly fielding error in the eight inning.

McNeese is back in the more comfortable environs of Joe Miller Ballpark Friday for a 6 PM SLC game against SFA. End of Update.

 

It's the second time this year the Cowboys have met the Lions on the diamond. SLU came out on top 12-3 at Joe Miller last week.

Tonight, McNeese is looking to continue the momentum they built up last weekend in defeating Abilene Christian and stay in rhythm for the upcoming conference battle with Stephen F. Austin.

McNeese Hits

The Sr RH Zach Rider (0-0) gets the ball and the mound to start tonight's game. The Cowboys are 23-21, 9-12 SLC, and the Lions stand at 24-20, 14-7.

At the plate, Jr utility-man Jake Dickerson hit his second and third homers, racking up five RBIs on the week. Dickerson leads the team with a .331 average in the box.

Paton Harden, a freshman, turned in a good week too going 8-19 with five RBIs and two double baggers.
