A Junior native of Moore, Oklahoma has been named the Southland Conference Softball Hitter of the Week, said the league today.

Outfielder Brenique Wright helped hammer McNeese to a three-win week last week out of four games, including hitting a home run against No. 3 Oklahoma, it was the only Cowgirl run of the game.

Against Incarnate Word she hit .500 with three hits, four RBIs, a double and four walks and was 5/5 in stolen bases. What a week!

And look at the photo, what form! Legs, arms, wrists, hips, head down, shoulders square - no wonder she's showing some power at the plate.

At this point in the season Wrights average is .444 with two home runs and a 1.222 slugging percentage.

The Cowgirls face RV Baylor in a doubleheader this evening at Joe Miller Field, first pitch of the first game is at 5 pm, second game slated for 7 pm.
