Swamp People Cast Member Killed in Auto Crash
According to an LSP report out of Iberville Parish, Saturday night a vehicle driving on LA 75 south of LA 3066 failed to negotiate a left-hand curve and ran off the highway to the right striking a utility pole and overturning, ejecting the driver.
According to Louisiana State Troopers, the driver was identified as 35-year-old, Randy Edwards who often appeared on the reality TV show Swamp People.
A post on the family's social media site confirmed the accident and asked that you please keep the Edwards family in your prayers. The tragedy was also confirmed by Edwards former agent, Amy Berteau, in addition to LSP reports.
The Swamp People reality series started in 2010 starring Troy Landry and included other people that formed Landry's life in the Atchafalaya River Basin.
Edwards was the brother of Willie Edwards, another swamp show favorite.
Back in 2012, Mitchell Guist of Swamp People slipped and fell while loading a boat and later died.
Life is hard in the bayous, our condolences and prayers go out to the Edwards family, and the cast and crew and friends of Swamp People.
