The Very First Ever McNeese Mardi Gras Classic Is This Weekend
Get your calendar out and squeeze a ballgame in this weekend as the McNeese Cowboys host the Holy Cross Crusaders and Nichols Colonels in the new Mardi Gras Classic, in Joe Miller Park.
The 4-4 Cowboys start Friday at 1 pm with Nichols 6-2
McNeese enters the game at .500 coming off a Tuesday night win over Alcorn 8-1. Though they're 4-4 the Cowboys have actually outscored opponents 71-52 in 2019 so it's not a matter of getting runs but getting them in the right innings.
Rhett Deaton gets Friday's start, he pitched last weekend against Texas State logging two and a third innings with seven runs scoring.
