Come on, it's a month early! Go home hurricane season, you're not a cute preemie baby.

The National Weather Service issued a Special Tropical Weather Outlook today here, regarding a trough of low pressure out over the northwestern Bahamas. It's producing rain and thunderstorms. However, little development is expected, if any at all. Whew!

But the yellow marker on the hurricane map is a tickler that within a month, we'll be looking out over the Atlantic for real, scanning the horizons electronically for the slightest hint of a disturbance.

This year, the Atlantic Hurricane Season (as stormy weather is officially known) starts on June 1st and runs through November 30th.

It's never too early to stock up on bottled water, batteries, and toilet paper.
